During my final semester at the University of North Florida I have had the opportunity to intern at The Florida Times Union in their sports department as well as part-time intern at 1010XL Jax Sports Radio working in production and promotions.

        During my internship with the Times I have covered Jacksonville Jaguar games where I interview local fans, attend post-game conferences, and update team statistics weekly. I also cover local high school football games taking statistics, interviewing coaches and players, and writing a post-game article. My internship has not been limited to football, in addition I covered local men who played in minor league baseball this season.

       This internship shaped me into a better sports writer and has prepared me to follow my dreams and pursue a career in sports writing.
