Key Players: Jurial Caldwell was Lee’s top receiver this week with two touchdown receptions, and a total of 101 yards for six receptions to lead the Generals to a comeback win over First Coast in District 2-7A play.

Turning Point: After a failed two-point conversion Lee trailed 21-20 in the fourth quarter, and with time running out Lee needed a shift in momentum. The momentum changed when defensive back Jonathan Robinson returned an interception for a 65-yard touchdown.

Following that play , First Coast fumbled the ball on the 45-yard line and Lee’s Kevonte Doles returned to the 15. Clivenson Orelus eventually kicked a 30-yard field goal to extend the Generals’ lead to 29-21.

Covering the run: First Coasts’ rushing offense set the tone early in the game, forcing Lee (6-1,2-1) to make major halftime adjusts to cover the run. Lee’s defense allowed a total of 252 rushing yards.

Fast Facts: Closely behind Caldwell among Lee receivers were Tahveon Nicholson with 88-yards and Terry McKinney with 85. Darius Lewis kept the rushing offense a continuous threat throughout the game for First Coast (3-4,0-2), gaining 164 yards on 25 carries with his strength and ability to evade defenders.

They said it: “When we needed a play we had some young guys step up and make some plays…..Jonathan Robinson with the interception for a touchdown…we were able to get a special teams turnover, that gives the offense and defense energy to feed off on, we were able to capitalize on that and win,” – Lee head coach O.J. Small.
